Notharctus is an early primate that lived during the early eocene living under the reign of the miacids in the trees anyways it for shadowed the future primates and was one of the earliest primates and an ancestor to to future primates like lemurs. It was part of a group that was really diverse the adapidiformes. It was a generalist picking leaves and fruits while eating insects. Notharctus was an evolutionary success lasting up to 14 million years. While it's descendants survived the last surviving species of notharctus died out when the forests started to disapear and gave way to open woodland and savanahs.
